Meet our Team

 

 

Michael Bush,

Principal of MDBushCo. With thirty years’ experience in the healthcare business, Mike’s widely varied background includes vendors and consulting services, as well as executive leadership, sales, business development, marketing and compliance.  He also served as director of an early Health Insurance Exchange (CARE of Utah).  His areas of specialty range from early-stage company environments, health nsurance Exchanges (FFM, State and private), Medicare Advantage and Part-D, healthcare reform and reseller channel development – for payers, providers, TPAs and employers.  Mike has worked with such progressive healthcare organizations as Geisinger Health System, Intermountain Healthcare, United Healthcare, DRx (now Connecture), OPTUMInsight and Milliman.

 

As an Affordable Care Act (ACA) expert, he is familiar the latest industry drivers and compliance issues. He is also a longtime expert on agent/broker issues – he was a nationwide general agent for an Exchange, and is former President of a health insurance agent/payer association.

 

Mike is a well-known writer, trainer, mentor, and presenter, and is regarded for his high standards of honesty, integrity, and ethics, as well as his lifelong passion for the healthcare industry and “get it done” professional style.

 

 

Consultants

Cliff Frank, consultant.  With more than 25 years of healthcare experience, Cliff specializes in product development and distribution processes where payers and providers collaborate for common beneficial outcomes through narrow networks, member incentives, and provider advocacy for payer partners.

Nathan Harris, consultant.  Nathan Harris brings a wide variety of experience to his consulting work in healthcare financial analysis.  As a former VP at WebMD and Ingenix, and with an early career that includes Fidelity Investments and Thomson Reuters, along with recent work outside the healthcare industry, Nathan is well-prepared for the challenges of ACA.

Brad Kuhnhausen, consultant.  Mr. Kuhnhausen represents a unique and valuable combination of skills:  A longtime veteran of the healthcare industry, Brad excels at health plan and health system pricing and operational projects, agent/broker models and Exchanges.  He is Co-Founder of Arches Health Plan, and was instrumental in CARE of Utah.  Brad is also a training expert.

Robert Pezzoli, consultant.  Mr. Pezzoli is a former health system CEO and executive at organizations including Temple University Health System, Ascension Health, and St. Agnes Healthcare.   As Vice President of HealthCare Access Maryland, a nonprofit organization, he facilitates eligibility/enrollment, health system navigation, education/advocacy and case management/care coordination services for more than 100,000 individuals through a variety of programs serving uninsured and vulnerable citizens.

Toby Rogers, consultant. Toby began his career in strategic change consulting for healthcare organizations. He was the Founder and President of Rxaminer; the first to provide tools to compare and reducing the cost of prescription drugs, and was  COO of DestinationRx (DRx), which created and licensed the plan finder technology used on medicare.gov, along with Marketplace technology for numerous payer and private marketplace clients.
